Re: Woolworth's. No, I don't think there's a single Woolworth's open in the US. But the buildings remain iconic. My guess is the San Diego store has been converted on upper floors to condos or apts. The Woolworths in the town next to mine (Oxnard--about 200 miles north of San Diego on the coast) has a Woolworth building converted to a fantastic cafe.

Love that vespa sign (sculpture? figurehead? what would you call that anyway?). Whatever it's called, it's adorable!
