I am a real "retro" '50s, '60's, '70's junkie - especially if the item concerned comes from Norway or Sweden. I believe it is common to have an attachment to the designs from the period one is raised in. I was born in the early 60's to a mother who was old enough to have served in WWII and a father with a attachment to musical theatre and the big band era. Hence I always seemed to be drawn to "stuff" which was deemed old fashioned by my contemporaries. And I've never been able to avoid this kind of shop as a result. Today I was good, I didn't buy!

I'm older than you by a few years, and also love stuff from the 50s and 60s, and early 70s.

The past is important to us it seems - I was born in the mid-50s and not remembering things from back then as a baby - but liking the items from that decade. Like cars in the day full of chrome for example, but other items from back then were overstyleayd and gaudy. Yet prized by many today.
In my mid 20s, I took a liking to Big Band and swing music. There is something about the arrangements and the brass instruments that make such a rich sound. Great sounds that wear well tody, too.
