Whimsical Windows, Delirious Doors 47

Yet another shop I had to resist going into - reflections of the pavement can be seen in the window. Cuba Street, Wellington

I love the contrast here between Art Deco and modern. Cuba Street Wellington

and yet, the modern and art deco seem to go well together - they are not as jarring as one might expect.

I love art deco style. There are not that many buildings left like that but we have a few movie theaters in the Twin Cities that have preserved the style intact. I have a hard time resisting antique shops and second hand stores too!

The modern and angular really highlight the art deco - which has straight lines but more interesting details like stylish window trim and iron railings. The contrasts in eras make for a good looking Cuba Street!

Oh my, did you manage to resist going into that store? I would love to get a job dressing these windows that you keep finding!
Sorry it's taken me so long to get over here, I've been gallivanting about with my family, who has come to visit from overseas... have a wonderful week!
