Hi Toby. I just got my first pair of Docs (age 50!), but they look more like loafers. They are PURPLE suede and I feel like I should be wearing drainpipe trousers with them and singing Crocodile Rock!
A shoe store it seems...in this view, not just an inspired guess on my part :)
Window artistry by design is always something that should help sell more of - the panes and colors add a look of intrigue that compel us to shop. Cool store!

I have never worn Doc Martens before - though these great patterns may change my mind!
Surely your feet would be dancing in these brightly coloured boots!
