Gift Box?

It has been a long standing joke with my husband that he never needs to ask me what I want as a present for any celebration, the answer will always be "an alpaca". A few years ago I was travelling by bus on the S. Island without my husband. Every time I passed an alpaca farm, I sent him a text message. The return text message was always "stay on the bus!"

About a week ago, this animal transporter arrived in our street. It has been parked outside our neighbour's drive and no one seems to know why. The day it appeared, my husband claimed to have bought me an alpaca, but that it had run away.......

If anyone has any ideas (silly or otherwise) why this horse/alpaca box mysteriously appeared on the street, please drop me a note in the comment box.

Fidel's on Cuba - Whimsical Windows 15

Our new favourite coffee hangout "Fidel's" on Cuba Street Wellington. I will post more photos another time, suffice to say, it has the best atmosphere of any coffee shop in the city. The Window shot is looking out from the cafe to the "under a tin roof and open to the fierce southerly wind" part of the cafe -look closely and you will see the red coffee machine and a stack of coffee cups.

Launching Caravanserai

Dear Friends, regular readers of Sparrow Chatter,"lurkers" and drifters,
Finally, I can tell you about my new blog (this one isn't going away), which will be a shop window for some products I am selling from Central Asia and beyond.
The blog is www.janescaravanserai.blogspot.com. I have always loved things which get the creative juices flowing, so am dabbling with some lovely haberdashery items to start with, and who knows where the journey will take me. I want to source interesting items from along the old caravan routes. May I invite you to "drop by" when you have a moment, and I would be delighted if you could pass the link to your friends.
At the moment, I can only sell within NZ, not being set up for international financial transactions (and I also have a day job, so for the moment the business is bijou). I suspect this building will eventually have to be demolished, as post-Christchurch earthquakes, all public buildings are being checked for strengthening. It is unlikely this one will be reinforced.
