Whimsical Windows Delirious Doors 60

I just came across some photos (when looking for something else) of our trip to Israel in 2004. This was taken in the old city of Jaffa. This is a photo of a photo, so the quality isn't good. However, what can take away from that bold and beautiful bouganvillea?

What a great trip that must have been. I'd love to visit all those old historic sites and soak up the atmosphere. I worry about Israel sitting in the middle of so many hostile countries. But, it seems like most of those countries are hostile toward each other as well!

The bouganvillea seems to have a life of own as it climbs over the arch and conforms to the wall. It grows large and unwieldy - but so prolific it adds a lovely red color to the scene. An expansive view of a lovely villa in a wonderful land...

The bougainvillea has draped itself beautifully over that arched gate. The metal gates have been attractively painted to match!

It's a gorgeous gate, and I love all the red in this photo.

Absolutely gorgeous! I really need to get to Jaffa for a photowalk... and I don't have much excuse not to :)
