Foxgloves in a flurry

Every year our home, which we have dubbed "Foxglove Hollow", seems to have a bumper crop of foxglove. This year, a few white cousins have appeared in the garden, a first. The sound of bumble bees wiggling inside the bells is a real joy. They exit backwards, covered in white pollen.  Our elderly cat still licks the leaves, so spends the month of November semi-stoned!

I'm smiling at the thought of your semi-stoned kitty. I wonder if it's the same reaction as when they get into catnip. Each of my three cats react differently to it. My oldest cat, 16-year-old Tweedy, gets all dreamy as she rolls in it. One just gets playful with it and the other cat doesn't seem to like it at all.

Otto, our elderly black and white has always been delightfully dim, but after the rounds of the digitalis is positively "far out"! Thank goodness Cumin and Ruppin haven't discovered it yet. Otto has to go to the vet for a follow up appointment tonight. Two years ago he had radioactive iodine treatment for thyroid problems, but they now seem to be back with avengeance. Sigh. We don't want to lose him. He is "only" 12 and the love of our lives.
